Tak Fujimoto
Jonathan Demme's right-hand man, Tak Fujimoto has worked as cinematographer on twelve
films directed by Demme, beginning with his debut Caged Heat and continuing right through to
his most recent film, The Truth About Charlie.
In addition, Fujimoto has photographed three films that Jonathan Demme produced but did not direct
(Miami Blues, Devil in a Blue Dress, that thing you do!).
Over the years, Fujimoto has also found time to
photograph key films for other noted directors, including Terrence Malick (Badlands), Cameron Crowe (Singles),
and M. Night Shymalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs).
(Work with Demme: Caged Heat, Crazy Mama [2nd unit cinematographer], Last Embrace, Melvin and Howard, Swing Shift, Something Wild, Married to the Mob,
The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia, The Complex Sessions, Beloved, The Truth About Charlie)
Jordan Cronenweth
Best known for his groundbreaking work on Blade Runner, Jordan Cronenweth also photographed
two of Jonathan Demme's best films (Citizens Band, and Stop Making Sense).
Demme has said on several occasions that, on Stop Making Sense, Cronenweth amazed
David Byrne by successfully executing lighting ideas that Byrne thought were impossible.
Over the years, Cronenweth also worked with Robert Altman (Brewster McCloud),
Ken Russell (Altered States), and Francis Ford Coppola (Peggy Sue Got Married,
Gardens of Stone). He can be seen
on-camera, in Stop Making Sense (with Jonathan Demme), at around the 1:24:28 point.
He died in 1996. Cronenweth's son, Jeff, has followed in his father's footsteps,
photographing films for Blade Runner fanatics David Fincher (Fight Club)
and Kathryn Bigelow (K-19: The Widowmaker), among others.

Tony C. Jannelli
Tony C. Jannelli began working with Jonathan Demme, as a camera operator
(Something Wild, Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia). He was then hired as a
cinematographer on the Demme-produced "Women and Men 2" (TV) and the Demme-directed Cousin Bobby,
along with several other cinematographers. A few years later,
Jannelli was the lone cinematographer on Demme's segment of Subway Stories
and then Storefront Hitchcock. Most recently, Jannelli has worked as director
of photography on TV ("Law & Order: Special Victims Unit") and on the 2nd unit of
several films (8MM).
